Server Setup Guide

Follow these simple, step-by-step instructions to install your system on a local XAMPP server or deploy it live using Namecheap hosting.

Part 1: Local Computer Setup (XAMPP)

Test on your Computer

Run the system without internet.

Install Local Server Visit apachefriends.org and download XAMPP. Install it and keep clicking 'Next' until finished.

Start Databases Open the XAMPP Control Panel. Click the Start buttons next to Apache and MySQL. Open your browser and go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin to create your database and import the .sql file.

Run the System Copy the downloaded folder into C:\xampp\htdocs\. Open db.php and update the database name. Open your browser and go to http://localhost/your_folder_name/.

Part 2: Live Website Setup (cPanel)

Go Live on the Internet

Make your system accessible to everyone.

Buy Domain & Hosting Go to Namecheap.com. Search for a domain name and buy the Stellar Shared Hosting plan. You can pay using a Virtual Visa Card (from M-Pesa, Airtel, etc.).

Setup Live Database Log into your cPanel. Find MySQL Databases. Create a database, a user, and a strong password. Link them together with 'All Privileges'.

Upload Your Files In cPanel, open File Manager. Go to the public_html/ folder, upload the `.zip` file, and extract it. Update your db.php file with the new live database password.

Follow these steps to configure your system.

XAMPP / Localhost Configuration

Extract the downloaded ZIP file into your server folder:
- XAMPP: C:/xampp/htdocs/
Open your browser and navigate to http://localhost/phpmyadmin.
Create a new Database and Import the included database.sql file.
Open your database configuration file (usually db.php) and update it:

Log into your hosting cPanel account.
Open File Manager, upload the ZIP file to public_html/, and extract it.
Open MySQL Databases:
- Create a new database and a new user.
- Link the user to the database with 'All Privileges'.
Open phpMyAdmin from cPanel and import the SQL file.
Update your configuration file with your new live passwords:

Go to the API Dashboard and copy your API Key and Secret Key.
